Remember: When submitting an electronic temporary event notice via the below tab, the applicant is required to check there are sufficient working days notice of application as per section 104 (1) of the Licensing Act 2003. This does not include the date the application is submitted, the start date of the event or bank holidays.

They have three working days to do so after the service of the TEN on them (see the definition of "working days" above). If there is an objection to a standard TEN, notice of a hearing by the council's Licensing Panel will be given. The Panel can decide to uphold or dismiss the objection and can impose conditions.

Public registers under the Licensing Act 2003 contain information about premises licences, club premises certificates and personal licences issued by the Borough Council as licensing authority together with temporary event notices and notices of review given to the council.

Only the Police may comment on personal licence applications, transfers of licences or variations of designated premises supervisors. Only the Police and Environmental Health may comment on temporary event notices.

But solicitor Jon Wallsgrove, representing event organiser and pier owner Tommy Ware, said there would be a new management team in place for future events, including scheduled events in August and September, with the same sound engineer employed that the council uses. He apologised for the issues people living near the pier had faced and said the issues would not be repeated.

The sub-committee agreed not to issue a counter notice which would have prevented the event from taking place. The approved temporary event notice will allow music to be played and alcohol served on the pier from midday until 8pm.

Temporary notices up to 0.6 square metres relating to local events, such as street parties and concerts, may also be displayed for a short period. There are different rules for estate agents' boards, but, in general, these should not be bigger than 0.5 square metres.
